We’re thrilled to announce that Anh and Anou Vongbandith, the heart and soul behind Das Good Cafe in Germantown, were recently featured on Fox29’s popular segment, “Ya Gotta Try This“ on Good Day Philadelphia!
During their appearance, they shared not only the story of their cafe but also introduced several signature dishes that reflect the diverse cultural influences behind their menu.
Here’s a sneak peek into what they talked about:
Loco Moco
Anh and Anou discussed the Loco Moco, a Hawaiian comfort food classic that has become a favorite here at Das Good Cafe. This dish, made with rice, a savory hamburger patty, fried egg, and rich gravy, was highlighted for its Hawaiian roots and how it captures the spirit of the islands in every bite.
Vietnamese Spring Rolls
Anh and Anou also highlighted our Vietnamese Spring Rolls, made with chicken, black mushrooms, cabbage, cellophane noodles, and a mix of seasonings and spices, all wrapped in a delicate, thin layer. These spring rolls showcase the vibrant and balanced flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, offering a light yet flavorful bite that’s perfect for any meal.

Laos Sausage
Anh and Anou took the opportunity to talk about the Laos Sausage, a dish that brings authentic Laotian flavors to Philadelphia. Packed with herbs and spices, this sausage is a homage to Anou’s Laotian roots and has quickly become a standout item on our menu for its bold and unique flavor profile.
Anh and Anou’s passion for sharing their cultural heritage through food was evident throughout the segment.
